This year i’ve been invited by Alès film festival ‘Itinérances’ (France, 30) to present and exhibit different aspects of my work both as a painter and as as musician. I’m very grateful to Itinerances and the Musee PAB for giving me this exceptional opportunity to present such a detailed and comprehensive picture of my work as an artist and musician.
My collaboration with Itinerances for this year’s festival started with a commission to design a poster for the 2014 edition. I made the poster with Uncle O with whom I’ve collaborated on all things design since 2008.
There will also be an exhibition of my paintings ‘Voix Picturale’ at the PAB contemporary art museum in Ales. The show will also feature the portraits I made for the book ‘Songs I Love’ as well as various other pieces that I’ve made over the years to illustrate my albums.
During the film festival there will be projections of the three films by Philppe Borrel for which I’ve written music for, the highlight being the premiere of the most recent film, ‘L’urgence de ralentir’. The festival will also be showing the film I made with Jeremiah, filmed in the Cevennes in 2011, ‘A new morning’ as well as the three stop motion animation videos from the album ‘Between dogs and Wolves’.
At the end of the festival on the 3rd of April, I’ll be performing the show we’ve been touring all over the world since September accompanied by drummer Simone Prattico, with a special guest for the occasion violinist Jasser Haj Youssef.
The concert will take place at the théâtre du Cratère.
